A TRIBUTE: MEET THE FOUNDER
About
Meet our founder, Gavin Scott
aka Strong Lion Heart Gavin.

Gavin Scott was the founder of The New Feelers Prayer Group, a community born from his deep faith and his desire to help others experience the peace, purpose, and connection he found through God after fully surrendering when his addictions became intolerable.
Through his journey Gavin developed his testimony, he overcame serious substance addiction, personal struggles, and began to understand through spiritual awakenings that he had never been alone. He often would say that God never abandoned him, it was he that abandoned God.
Gavin developed a profound empathy for others, particularly those who felt lost, broken and alone. His faith became the foundation of his life, and through his commitment to the 12-step programme, he came to know a peace that he was passionate about sharing with others.
Gavin believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, fellowship, and honest connection. The Feelers Prayer Group was born to be a a safe and welcoming space where people could come as they are — without judgement — to be open, vulnerable, and supported in faith. Gavin’s heart was for people to feel seen, heard, and reminded that God’s love is available to everyone, no matter their past.
Gavin lived by the principle of service to others. He gave his time, energy, and love freely, always seeking to lift others up and point them towards hope and healing. His life reflected his belief that no one is beyond redemption and that true transformation is possible through faith.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Gavin’s legacy lives on through the New Feelers Prayer Group and the many lives he has touched. His vision was for this space to be a place of light, honesty, and connection, where people could walk together in faith and support one another through life’s challenges.
To all members of The Feelers Prayer Group:
May this space continue to reflect the love, compassion, and faith that Gavin carried so naturally. You are encouraged to come as you are, to lean on one another, and to trust that God is working in your lives. Gavin’s heart was for each of you to find peace, purpose, and a deeper connection with God — and that continues here as we proudly continue serving on this platform to spread to word of God, the ability to surrender and be accepted as you are in to the Kingdom.
